Council Meetings

Village Council meetings are held the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:30 PM in Council Chambers of Town Hall at 103 West Market Street. The public is welcome to attend meetings or to provide comments on any village related matter. The building is handicapped accessible.

Due to recent issues with persons joining our Village Council meetings via Zoom, with the purpose to disrupt the meetings, and since the Village Council Chamber is now open to the public during the meetings, the policy for Zoom access to Village Committee and Council meetings is being modified. Effective immediately, 

  • All meetings will continue to be live-streamed on the Village YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsKUv3GgnaRXXWkTJB06vJg
  • All Zoom meeting id numbers and access codes will be changed and removed from the website;
  • Anyone wanting or needed to join a committee or council meeting via Zoom, instead of in-person, should contact the Village Office and request the Zoom meeting information, which will then be provided. 
  • Zoom meetings will use the waiting room feature for those joining remotely. 

We appreciate all the Village residents that have joined the meetings remotely over the past two years - you have been respectful and not abused this privilege. Unfortunately, publishing the meeting information permits those outside the village, state, or country, to also join our meetings and recently some have done so and disrupted our meetings. We appreicate your understanding and again, if you want to join remotely, please contact the office.

Finance Committee: Reviews, investigates, and recommends Council action in all fiscal matters before Council; including budgets, appropriations, taxes, assessments, employee wages, expenditures and general monetary policy and other special assignments.

Meeting Schedule: 2nd Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

 

Rules Committee: Reviews, investigates, and recommends Council action on all matters related to employee relations, policies and procedures; reviews, investigates, and recommends Council action in areas involving eligibility for Village Boards and Committees and conflicts of interest; performs an annual review and considers any resolution to amend the Rules of Council.

Meeting Schedule: 2nd Monday of the month at 6:45 p.m. or immediately following the Finance Committee meeting.

 

Service Committee: Reviews, investigates, and recommends Council action in all matters of public utilities, streets, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, recreational facilities, zoning and planning, subdivision regulations, annexation, beautification and public park lands, annual review of Land Use Plan, and other special assignments.

Meeting Schedule: 4th Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

 

Safety Committee Reviews, investigates, and recommends Council action in all matters of public buildings, traffic safety, police protection, fire protection, health, civil defense, building codes and inspection, and other special assignments.

Meeting Schedule: 4th Monday of the month at 6:45 p.m. or immediately following the Service Committee meeting.
