Village Council

The Baltimore Council is elected by the voters of the Village of Baltimore, and is the legislative branch of the village. Consisting of six members elected to four year terms, the Council elects a President from their own members. Council is supported by the Clerk of Council (Fiscal Officer) who is responsible for the maintenance of the record of proceedings of the Council and of all ordinances and resolutions adopted by Council.

Finance Committee: Reviews, investigates, and recommends Council action in all fiscal matters before Council; including budgets, appropriations, taxes, assessments, employee wages, expenditures and general monetary policy and other special assignments.

Meeting Schedule: 2nd Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

 

Rules Committee: Reviews, investigates, and recommends Council action on all matters related to employee relations, policies and procedures; reviews, investigates, and recommends Council action in areas involving eligibility for Village Boards and Committees and conflicts of interest; performs an annual review and considers any resolution to amend the Rules of Council.

Meeting Schedule: 2nd Monday of the month at 6:45 p.m. or immediately following the Finance Committee meeting.

 

Service Committee: Reviews, investigates, and recommends Council action in all matters of public utilities, streets, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, recreational facilities, zoning and planning, subdivision regulations, annexation, beautification and public park lands, annual review of Land Use Plan, and other special assignments.

Meeting Schedule: 4th Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

 

Safety Committee Reviews, investigates, and recommends Council action in all matters of public buildings, traffic safety, police protection, fire protection, health, civil defense, building codes and inspection, and other special assignments.
